Departments & Ministries

Women’s Department *

This department is strategically designed to touch, empower, include, involve, and encircle every woman at LRHM. It is for the women to come together as a God-breathed organism of sisters, daughters, mothers, friends, and life-time legacy mentors who together will set an atmosphere of relational well-being. It is a vision of unity where the prevailing countenances of feminine grace exclude a gentleness that is heralded as strength; where peace insists on rejoicing; a kind word is freely passed around, and love is expected to stretch to great lengths. With a doctrinally sound and programmatic approach to ministry, we seek to not only meet every woman at the point of her need but to strengthen her so that she may reach the point of her abundance. Every woman who is a member of LRHM is atomically a member of the Women’s Department. The Women’s Department offers a monthly fellowship where First Lady Rochelle Edwards hosts prayer gatherings or where she, or other esteemed speakers, address topics such as relationship and health. Additionally, under the Women’s Departments umbrella there are two ministries established to serve the Single Women and the Mothers’ Board.

            ~Women’s Sunday Service- 5th Sundays 11 am & 4 pm

Mothers’ Board

The Bible instructs the “older women to teach the younger women in things of the Lord”. Our church mothers (ages 50 & above) are precious, having a wealth of knowledge. The Mother’s Board is in constant prayer for our church and leadership. They are holy women and teach our ladies to be better wives, mothers, and women by example.

Women’s Singles Department

The Women’s Singles Ministry is for females, ages 18 and older that are single, divorced, unmarried, and widowed. The group gathers at LRHM or other designated places to come to gather and study the Word of God as it applies to singleness. The ministry’s mission is to “get the most out of singleness while studying the Word of God”

Men’s Department *

The Men’s Department is expected to biblically train and equip men to be spiritual leaders in their homes, in the church, and in their places of business & community. The Men’s Ministry develops men in Christian living to make an enteral impact for this generation and those to come. They accomplish this mission through Bible study, discipleship groups, evangelism training, leadership development, accountability groups, mentoring, retreats, mission trips and special events. In today’s culture, it’s increasingly important for men to honor God with their hearts and lives.

Deacon(ness) Board

The Deacon(ness)’ primary responsibility is the spiritual concerns of the church family. In addition to this, they are responsible for being a Christ-like example for other Christian. They are responsible for the setting and upkeep of the communion table for the Lord's Supper; providing assistance to candidates for baptism; and cooperating with the pastor in visiting the sick and shut-in members. They act as counselors and assistants to the Pastor. The authority of the Deacon(ness) is based on Acts 6:3 which reads, “Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.” Individuals shall fill this office are prayerfully and carefully selected by the Pastor and then ratified by the Church Body.

Evangelism Department

The Evangelism Department is a very vital department within the ministry. As our Pastor constantly reminds us, it is the “Heartbeat” of the church. The Evangelism Department’s responsibility is to witness to those who may not attend regular church services. It is the individual’s job to spread the Word of God through the streets, jail, school ministry, hospitals, convalescent homes, and any place where they can be an effective witness. “For if we cease to evangelize, we will eventually die”. Counselors exist to assist and encourage souls in their decision for Christ and to evangelize the community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The ministry’s mission is to be witnesses to the world and to the body of Christ while encouraging, comforting, and exhorting all those whom God puts in our care.

Elder Department

Elders are to provide a scriptural role model and set before the congregation an example of a rightly ordered life with one purpose, to glorify God. In addition, they are to engage in activities that promote the church’s mission of making disciples who are Belonging, Growing, Serving, and Reaching, both in their personal walk and in their influence over the walk of others. The elders under the pastor’s oversite have responsibility for the oversight of the church body and the shepherding of its members and shall have ultimate responsibility for managing the affairs of the church. While the staff directs the various ministries of the church, the elders provide the overarching protection of the body. Elders are to exhort the Senior Pastor and staff of the church, which includes providing encouragement, comfort, persuasion, counseling, teaching, and accountability. 1 Timothy 3, 1 Timothy 5:7, 1 Peter 5:3, Acts 6:2-4, James 5:14-15, Acts 20:29-31,Ephesians 4:3, 1 Corinthians 1:10, 1 Corinthians 5:1-13, Matthew 18:15-22, 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1

It is the goal of the Health Ministry to promote health and wellness within the congregation and community through prevention and education.

Kitchen /Hospitality Department

The Kitchen & Hospitality Department is a department that handles all food functions for the church. This department is composed of experienced chefs as well as homemakers, teenagers, and anyone who is willing to learn the art of fine cooking. While experience is well appreciated, it is not mandatory. The staff of the Kitchen/Hospitality Department is more than willing to train and cultivate anyone to reach their greatest potential in this department. This Department also works with the 1st Impression Department to ensure that guests’ churches and pastors are taken care of with LRHM love and care. It is the responsibility of this ministry to ensure that there is a full staff, fully stocked, and to clean up the facility after each event.

Children’s Ministry

Children’s Church

Each weekend we reach hundreds of children in an exciting and active environment called TG Children’s Church. Our services are filled with worship, games, and great Bible stories that teach God’s values at an age-appropriate level. Our weekend services meet at the same time as our adult services and are specifically designed for all children starting at age completely potty trained to children in fifth grade. While adults are experiencing the life-giving worship and teaching of the main services, we are giving their children the exact same experience in TG Children’s. Through gifts, talents, and faithfulness, we get to partner together to make a real change in this world by empowering the future generation to impact the Kingdom of God. Your investment of time and energy is valuable!

They assist in the prevention of interruptions and distractions, and with the collection of tithes and offerings during the services. The ushers are responsible for the general clean-up of the sanctuary immediately following services. Ushers are a vital part to every worship service including funerals or memorial services. The goal of this Usher Ministry is to have its members understand and help teach the etiquette of the church organization and aid in spiritual growth through the knowledge of God’s Word.

Church Choir

A church choir has four functions: to lead and enliven the congregation's song, to sing music that the congregation cannot, to serve as a group within the church for faith formation, and to sing beautiful and challenging music to glorify God and to edify the congregation. Participating in divine worship services as a choir member is a sacred responsibility, not to be taken lightly. Choir members, as other church musicians, offer their God-given talents to the faith for a

variety of reasons. For most, it is a part of their stewardship – the giving of their “time and talents.”

First Impressions Ministry

This ministry carries the Heart of God. They’re the Frontline that people will experience in our church environment. The FIRST ONES who will bring people from doubt to belief by demonstrating the power of God’s Heart by Servanthood of Love. The following teaching ministries are available under the umbrella of the Christian Education Ministry: Bible Study, Sunday School, Teacher’s Meeting, Vacation Bible School and Youth Church.

II Timothy 2:15 says, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

In addition to biblical teaching, the New Members Committee is designed to help inform NM about our church & bible basics through New Members Class. In NM Class you will go in in-depth in studying God’s Word and to assist each believer in his or her Christian growth. An NM is often made up of a small group of people and connection is another important outcome of membership class. After each member completes NMC, they will have been informed about the following: Who’s who, Church History, Mission, Vision, Statement of Faith, Strategic Objective, what is expected from members, what members can expect from the Church, and Volunteer Opportunities. NMC members will also learn the membership process with the intention of getting a commitment and support from people who have decided to make the church their home.

Seeking to meet the physical and spiritual needs of Life ReNewed members who are going through rough times by giving them a presentation of the Gospel along with a helping hand. When able, the fund will assist with providing assistance with other needs such as fuel, utilities, rent, food, etc.  The Benevolence Ministry functions first by order of Christ then by approved guidelines set forth by the Pastor and Ministry Leaders. The Benevolence Ministry is to provide for those who are in need, widowed, or abandoned. The Benevolence Ministry is intended as a source of last resort, to be used when the family or individual requesting assistance has explored all other possibilities of help from family, friends, savings, or investments.  The Benevolence Ministry is not designed to respond to emergencies, financial or otherwise, as the process can take several weeks to complete.
